Acidic records are
deacified and made stable. Our proven deacidfication process stops
decay and protects against future breakdown and "ink burning"
commonly know ink bleed through. Documents are
left with calcium carbonate reserve to protect from future exposures
to atmospheric pollutants.
Repaired
and deacified documents are encapsulated in archival "Mylar".
"Mylar" is crystal clear, sturdy ,and is recommended for long term
storage of permanent documents. Weak documents gain physical support
from the inherent static cling of Mylar". Repaired documents
are housed in high quality sturdy Olympic Binders" or permanently
bound in beautiful hand crafted leather binds with 24kt gold foil
print.
Encapsulated documents can be viewed and copied without
removing from the Mylar" envelope. With reasonable maintenance and
care, restored records can be kept in service for as long as two
hundred years before they require any additional preservation
services. |
